According to customs data:
In November 2024, China's total lithium carbonate import volume was approximately 19,235 mt, down 17% MoM, with an average import price of about $9,584/mt.
Among them, lithium carbonate imports from Chile were about 12,189 mt, down 32% MoM, accounting for 63% of the total imports; imports from Argentina were about 6,270 mt, up 31% MoM, accounting for 33% of the total imports. Chile and Argentina remain the main sources of China's lithium carbonate imports, maintaining a relatively strong position. The volume of lithium carbonate exported from Chile to China in October and November was around 17,000 mt. Due to shipping impacts, the volume arriving in China from Chile in November dropped significantly. It is expected that shipments will gradually arrive at Chinese ports in December, leading to a noticeable increase in domestic lithium carbonate imports in December.
